Erica Jensen is owner of Helen Ainson and continues the tradition of offering gorgeous clothing and superior customer service that was started by her mother, Helen Ainson back in the first store in New York City in 1948. Her mother later opened a store in Greenwich, Connecticut, where Erica worked during high school and college.
Erica opened Helen Ainson in Darien, Connecticut in 1977, and built her company on the principles her mother taught her; superior personal service and outstanding selection.
Over the years, she has hand-picked her staff of well-educated, professional stylists/fashion consultants who are highly trained in knowing how to outfit a woman for any occasion from head-to-toe. Each consultant shares Erica’s belief that one-on-one attention to each client is of the utmost importance.
Erica takes enormous pride in Helen Ainson’s reputation as the most sought after resource for women’s special occasion attire, sportswear and accessories in the Northeast.
Erica is also very passionate about giving back to the Darien community, which she does through sponsorship of charitable community events and organizations and volunteering with the Darien Chamber of Commerce. She has also hosted the Annual Toys For Tots Fashion Show and Toy Drive which is now an annual December event into it’s 3rd year, providing new toys for underprivileged children in the Fairfield County area. Erica has also held a successful Breast Cancer Fundraiser at her shoppe for the past 10 years benefitting the Smilow Breast Health Center of Norwalk Hospital.

Our Sales Manager, Suzanne Griffin, says, “I have had the opportunity to meet many great designers and travel to New York City on buying trips for years which has been an amazing journey. I have years of training and experience behind me, which gives me great insight and understanding of how to dress my clients to look fabulous no matter what the occasion. As Sales Manager I have taken it upon myself to always remind our consultants that the sale is not is what important. What is more important, and is absolutely imperative, is that all of our clients not only love it here in our dressing room, but love it and feel great in it when wearing it outside our store! If we can do that, then I have done my job!”
General Manager & Assistant Buyer, Corrie Belardinelli says “I have years of experience behind me in fashion and lingerie. I came to Helen Ainson 10 years ago and have used my extensive expertise in the lingerie business to seek out the best fitting bras and French lingerie for our clients. All the years in this business has taught me that the right undergarments are so important under clothing. Wearing an ill fitting bra or not having a great pair of Spanx can spoil the entire look. I as General Manager have instilled this into all of our Stylists/Fashion Consultants. My ultimate goal is that every woman who walks out our door feels like a million bucks”!
